My last role was that of Logistics Operations Manager for Juniper Networks' EMEA Demo Pool. Together with my then manager we added Logistics services and support for internal departments to the tasks we were assigned "officially". This allowed to to gain a great deal of experience in the following areas:

 

  • Selection and training of direct colleagues and reports;
  • Managing a direct team of 10 reports;
  • Taking decisions under great pressure;
  • Working with colleagues from all countries in EMEA as well as North America and APAC;
  • Responsible for multi million USD budgets;
  • Stock and inventory management of close to 100,000 units over 1500 SKU;
  • Forcasting of needed materials, number of shipment requests;
  • Order (Shipment request) management & prioritisation & release;
  • Compliance to some 7 sets of regulatory requirements including CTPAT/ EU Airfreight Security & ROHS2 & Union Customs Code (at the same time);
  • Proactively assessing compliance risks and escalating these to the respective expert teams;
  • Had a custom WMS/ ERP tool developed and maintained;
  • Was involved in selecting and setting up a version of the above tool for global/ multi theatre use;
  • "Internal" customer support both on the above mentioned tool and logistics & daily practical issues;
  • Redesigned our warehouse 4 times due to growth or new requirements;
  • Selecting, managing and negocating pricing and terms & conditions with Logistics Service Providers such a express and "white glove" couriers;
  • Procurement of a wide range of goods such as IT equipment, Tools, all sorts of storage solutions, all sorts of transport materials, etc;
  • Selecting/ having made custom packing materials suck as flight cases & mobile server racks;
  • Based on site at a 3PL for 8+ years with my manager based ou off the UK;
  • Providing structural logistical solutions and support for colleagues & company departments in EMEA;
  • Supporting the Americas and APAC theatres on urgent equipment needs, shipping goods globally;
  • Project management of Marketing Events & Trade Shows, Equipment Roll Outs at customer sites and Logistics;
  • Managing product recalls and finding a way to refurbish or replace the recalled units efficiently;
  • Setting up & managing RMA processes, trouble shooting received RMA shipments without proper paperwork;
  • Supporting Customer Services & Customer Support on escalations;
  • Testing & repacking of goods arriving from the Contract Manufacturer with damage;
  • Providing recycling services to the company including "data secure" destruction of HDD;
  • Setting up and maintaining an administration (for customs & taxes) of all received goods at the warehouse;
  • Developing solutions for inventory tracking through labelling and specific stock caches;
  • Managing all sort of product or shipment quality control requirements.
